Personality: Cold and seemingly uncaring, he was distant and stern. He seemed to only care about winning the war and raising his youngest son to follow in his footsteps to continue his legacy.

History: Taeral inherited the throne from his father before him. He was a good man, but he believed that elves should be allowed to do as they pleased. He also believed that humans were below them. From a young age, he was arranged to marry a dark elf in hope of attaining peace between the Dark and Light elves. Upon meeting Farryn, he was taken by her beauty and fell head over heels for her. Fortunately, the princess of the dark elves was equally charmed and the two looked forward to their wedding day. Now that he was a married man, he was allowed to take over the throne and allow his father to retire. Taeral and Farryn were blessed with a son not too long after their wedding. They named him Zelious and he was to be trained to follow in the footsteps of Taeral and his father before him. The boy was a prodigy and quickly excelled in his studies. He seemed like he would be a fine heir to the throne. However, disaster struck when one night a human assassin sneaked into the palace and killed the Queen. Taeral was devastated and all of the hard work that Farryn had been putting into her husband to get him to change for the better was gone. He started to hate the humans for what they had done and hunted down the assassin. Although the man was killed, his wife was still gone. Later on, the king felt betrayed by his son, Zelious, who had taken a human for a lover.

He was furious with his son for choosing a woman that belonged to the race that had killed his wife and set out to punish his only son. The loss of his wife had twisted him and made him a terrible man consumed with anger and hate. He sent his son to war and while he was gone, had an assassin sent to kill the human woman and their two children. When Zelious returned from war, he was devastated to find that his family had been murdered but was unable to locate the body of his daughter. When he found out who was responsible, his grief and rage consumed him and he lashed out. He planned to kill Taeral for his treachery and on his way to kill the king, he killed many men who tried to stop him. Unfortunately, Zelious was ambushed and captured before being brought before the king. Taeral was disgusted by his behavior and disowned him, exiling him from the elven lands. Zelious went, but he swore to get even with his father.

Now that Taeral was without an heir, he needed to remarry. His advisors lined up noble women for him to choose and one in particular caught his attention. Her family had been close to his family so he knew her, to an extent. She was beautiful and graceful and everything he wanted in a queen. So, Taeral made the arrangements and married Ilayana. Although he was not cruel to her, he was cold and withdrawn. Still, they had several children together and things seemed peaceful, despite the war at their doorstep. When Zaleria fell in love with an elf below her station and got pregnant, Taeral again grew angry. He forced her lover to join the army and sent him off to war, bringing about his death. Zaleria was heartbroken and went into premature labor. Unfortunately, the baby didn't make it and she sank into a fit of deep depression. The king focused most of his attention on Ailuin, preparing for him to take the throne. The war worsened and Taeral himself had to enter the war. Unfortunately, this would be the end for him as he was killed in combat. Ilayana ruled in his place for a time before allowing Ailuin to take the throne.

Title: Exiled Prince

Personality: Cold and cruel, he has been corrupted by darkness and delights in causing pain in others. However, he has a soft spot for women and children and refuses to hurt them. Since meeting Elayne and falling in love with her, he has changed into the man that he once was.

Significant Other: Daelia (deceased), Elayne

Children: Sylrian (deceased), Syndra (deceased?)

History: Born to Taeral and Farryn Miaharice, he was raised to follow in his father's footsteps. From the moment he was born, greatness and perfection were expected of him. He was expected to be the perfect warrior, the perfect prince, and when the time came, the perfect king. He was a high ranking officer in his father's army and quite skilled. One day, he was ordered to wipe out a human village close to the Elven Kingdom. He and his army had slain just about everyone when he came upon a human woman. He was struck by her beauty and could not find it in himself to kill her, so he spared her and helped her escape to safety. In secret, they became lovers and had two children.

When Taeral found out, he was livid. Behind Zelious' back, while he was away fighting in the war, the king sent an assassin to track down Daelia and her two half-elf children and had them killed. When Zelious came home, he was greeted with the sight of their dead bodies. They had been tortured and then killed. Devastated and then enraged, Zelious searched relentlessly for the ones responsible. When he found out, by chance, that his father was the one responsible, he went berserk. He attacked elven men who were once comrades and wiped out a good amount of the army on his warpath to slay his father. However, he was overwhelmed and captured.

He was then brought before his father, but instead of being executed for his betrayal, Taeral disowned him and cast him out of the kingdom, forbidding him to ever step foot in the lands again. For a long time, Zelious wandered as a broken man, slowly being corrupted by the darkness that became dominant in his heart. Eventually, his physical appearance changed to match the darkness in his heart. He found delight in causing misery and killing people, taking the job of an assassin. He was willing to work for anyone as long as the money was good. However, he had a soft spot for women and children because deep down, it reminds him of the family he lost.

Despite his banishment, he still snuck into the Elven lands to accomplish jobs. He is well aware that Taeral remarried and had more children. He is also aware that Taeral is no longer alive. Secretly, he resents Ailuin because Zelious was born first and should be king instead. However, he has made no move to overthrow his half-brother or even reveal his existence to his half-siblings.

Gender: Female

Title: Former Queen

Personality: Ilayana is known for her kind and gentle ways. It is quite rare for her to lose her temper. She is most often seen with a smile on her lips. She adores her children and cherishes each of them. She tends to baby her youngest daughter and is proud of her only son for being such a kind and well-liked king. She worries about her eldest child a lot.

Significant Other: Taeral Miaharice (divorced), Aire (current husband)

Children: Zaleria, Rosaria, Ailuin, Vaeri, Elduin

History: Ilayana was not born into royalty, but she did come from a well to do family. Her family were nobles and quite close to the royal family. She didn't marry Taeral until his wife had been dead for his years and his son recently banished. She did not have a choice in the matter, but she didn't run away. The king had chosen her because her family was closely linked with the Royals and because he found her quite attractive. It was not a marriage born of love, but it wasn't unpleasant. Taeral treated her with kindness and respect. He was not a perfect man but he wasn't the worst. The war between humans was still raging and Taeral knew he had needed to sire some more children.

Ilayana knew about the previous queen and how she had died when his son was still young. She knew who his son was and why he had been banished, but she did not let it bother her. Taeral wanted all trace of his son to be forgotten so no one would know of the shame that had been brought to him by Zelious' betrayal. In fact, it was made out that the prince had been killed in the war. It wasn't too long into the marriage that Ilayana got pregnant and it was revealed that she would be having twins.

She had grown to love her husband, despite his flaws and despite not knowing if he truly cared for her. She had a son after her twin daughters and then her last child was a daughter. Vaeri was young when Taeral was finally killed in a skirmish in the war between humans and elves. She took over the throne until she had felt Ailuin was ready to lead his people. She has then retired from her former duties as queen and focused on her family, though she sometimes takes over when Ailuin needs time to himself.

After it was later discovered that her former husband, Taeral, was still alive and had been held in a dungeon thanks to Gregory, she completely broke off her marriage to him and allowed herself to be with her true love, Aire.

Name: Zaleria Miaharice

Gender: Female

Title: 1st Princess

Personality: Originally, Zaleria was a passionate and free-spirited elf. She was the more outgoing twin and was always getting into mischief alongside her shyer twin, Rosaria. Due to certain events, Zaleria is withdrawn and not at all like herself. She suffers from deep depression and often locks herself away in her room.

Significant Other: Lamruil Faethyra (deceased)

Children: Zentha (deceased)

History: Zaleria was the eldest of the twins and the most outgoing. She was a happy child and often got into mischief, dragging her innocent, shyer twin along for the ride. She eventually began to calm down as she hit her teenage years. She was still quite passionate about her beliefs and had many friends besides her sister. Then one day, she met an elf named Lamruil. They fell in love and had to meet in secret. Her father was not fond of Lamruil because he was a commoner. When Zaleria became pregnant out of wedlock, Taeral forced Lamruil to join his army and sent him off to war as punishment for his daughter's insolence. This would cost Lamruil his life as he was not as experienced as many of the men in the army and was ambushed by a group of human soldiers. When news of his death reached her, she was devasted and almost lost the baby. With Rosaria at her side, she knew she had to take care of herself or she would lose the only piece of her lover left. Despite her efforts, the child was born early and died shortly after. She took her daughter's death just as hard as the death of her lover and locked herself in her room, only allowing Rosaria to get through to her. Eventually, Rosaria managed to pull her out of her depression, but Zaleria wasn't the same. The light in her soul had died when she had first lost her lover and then her child.

Title: 2nd Princess

Personality: Rosaria is the shyer one of the twins, but since the event that left Zaleria deeply depressed, she has taken on the more outgoing role. She is still quite shy, but she's very interested in new things and is quite sweet. She does her best to keep Zaleria from sinking back into the depression but it doesn't always work. However, she is quite patient. Rosaria loves all of her siblings and her mother.

History: Rosaria was born a few minutes after Zaleria. Ever since she was young, she was always shy and would cling to her mischievous sister's side or to her mother's skirts. As she grew up, she opened up a little more but was still quite shy. After her twin lost both her lover and child, she took on the role of the outgoing twin and did her best to care for her sister and try to keep her from taking her own life. Rosaria knew that their father had punished Zaleria for having a child out of wedlock. She hadn't agreed with his methods but did not allow herself to hate him. She was always too kind to hate. She takes after her mother.

Title: Current King

Personality: Ailuin is a kind and caring man. He has always been eager for knowledge and wanting to help his people. He puts his people before his own needs. Now that he is married, he also puts her above his own needs.

Children: Bellethiel, Thalion, Aisling, Alduin (bastard)

History: As a child, Ailuin always had a thirst for knowledge. Although his father did not allow him to learn the common tongue used in the human realm, this did not stop him from learning other languages. He learned as much as he could, from all kinds of different subjects, and was also taught how to behave as a king. From the moment he was born, great things were expected of him. His father was hard on him, but not necessarily cruel. When Ailuin got old enough, he was sent to join the war. Even when young, Ailuin had a distaste for bloodshed and violence. However, the young prince did not want to disappoint his father and so off he went, much to his mother's dismay. Fortunately, he had a talent with weapons and magic and was a great asset to the war. When his father was killed in the same war he had been forced to take part in, a part of Ailuin was not sad for the death of his father. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of his shoulders and he was finally allowed to live the life he wanted. He didn't take over the throne immediately, content to let his mother lead for a time before he finally took up the mantle of being king. Ailuin and his siblings do not know of Taeral's first child. To them, Taeral and Ilayana were always together. Ilayana has guarded this secret well.

Title: 3rd Princess

Personality: Warm and bubbly, Vaeri is known for her kindness. She has been sheltered so she still retains a lot of innocence. Still, she does her best to always have a smile on her lips and hope in her chest. She likes to think positive and not give into negative feelings.

Significant Other: Liam

Children: None

History: Vaeri was the last child to be born by Ilayana for her husband, Taeral. Taeral made no effort to hide that he was not pleased with having only one son and three daughters. Still, he was grateful that he had a son. Vaeri's care was left to her mother and elder sisters. Ailuin was around when he was able. When she was a small child, she became sick and almost died. Ilayana nearly worked herself to death finding the cure for her daughter and administering it to her. Ever since, her mother has babied her and refused to see that Vaeri is no longer a child. When Taeral died, Vaeri was sad even though her father had not shown her as much love as he had towards Ailuin.
